Trade In Goods

Boosting trade in CEFTA and eliminating all unnecessary barriers to trade is the main priority of the CEFTA trade facilitation component. Trade facilitation is one of the key generators for economic development, thus the orientation of the CEFTA activities is closely related to this segment. Further simplifying, harmonizing and standardizing trade procedures remain the key goals, aiming to reduce trade costs, and enable businesses to increase their competitiveness, increase the potential for expansion and create a more favourable environment for investments. The Committee on Trade Facilitation addresses issues related to the facilitation of trade in CEFTA.

CEFTA commitments to eliminate administrative barriers to trade are laid down in Additional Protocol 5 on Trade Facilitation.
