Today in Skopje, starts CEFTA Week 2021. The annual event serves as an opportunity to summarize results and achievements from the yearlong CEFTA Chairmanship which during 2021 was held by North Macedonia.

In the next four days, Skopje will host high officials from the CEFTA Parties, business representatives, diplomats, and EU and other international organizations representatives. Among the speakers on the CEFTA Week 2021 Conference 15 YEARS MAKING TRADE HAPPEN on Thursday 16 December 2021 are Mr. Kreshnik Bekteshi, Minister of Economy, North Macedonia, Mr. Oliver Varhelyi, Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement, Mr. Marko Cadez, President of the Managing Board of WB6 CIF, Ms. Majlinda Bregu, Secretary-General of RCC, Mr. Emir Djikic, Director of the CEFTA Secretariat.

The CEFTA Week 2021 will start with the official CEFTA Body meetings and several workshops, organized in cooperation with the partners from European Union Intellectual Property Office, USAID North Macedonia and Western Balkans 6 Chamber Investment Forum and with the support of the European Commission. The events will be dedicated to trade related topics stemming from the Common Regional Market Action Plan, such as e-commerce, recognition of certificates and procedure, qualifications, licences, intellectual property rights.

The start of the CEFTA Week 2021 is marked by a public online webinar held today at 12h to present SEED+, an upgrade of the current functional System for electronic data exchange that successfully connects the customs administrations in the CEFTA and will be extended to the other agencies. Participants will also get an opportunity to learn about the CEFTA databases, including statistics on Green Corridors/Green Lanes.
