Customs’ mandate is to ensure that goods flowing across the BCPs/CCPs comply with a wide range of regulatory requirements and trading rules. Today, the primary role of customs is to facilitate the trade. The main goal of trade facilitation measures is to help make trade faster, cheaper and more predictable. Liberalisation and facilitation of trade among the CEFTA Parties and their integration in the EU Single Market continues to be a key priority on the agenda of the CEFTA Agreement.
The Subcommittee on Customs and Rules of Origin seeks to ensure the simplification and facilitation of customs procedures and reduce, as far as possible the formalities imposed to trade in line with the CEFTA Additional Protocol 5.
