CEFTA Chair in Office for 2016 established cooperation with LSEE regarding the establishment of an academic award to promote research on trade issues among the CEFTA Parties.

The current CEFTA was signed in December 2006 and Montenegro as the Chair in Office is working to ensure that the achievements of this ambitious and modern free trade agreement over the past 10 years are recognised and that its potential to contribute to greater economic development and European integration is promoted. Therefore a number of actions to improve the outreach and visibility of CEFTA have been considered by the CEFTA Parties, one of which is a €5,000 “Award for Academic Articles” for the best three/four articles written on CEFTA
