The CEFTA Joint Committee has appointed Ms. Carine Henoque as the Acting Director of the CEFTA Secretariat. Ms. Henoque will serve in this capacity until a new Director is formally appointed.
Ms. Henoque brings over 30 years of extensive experience in managing regional programmes for the UN and the EC, as well as strong expertise in financial management and a proven track record in programming, budgeting and procurement with international financial institutions, private sector entities, and development-focused NGOs. Her appointment reflects her proven track record in delivering high-impact results in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
She previously served for 10 years in regional partnerships at the United Nations Population Fund, and spent 6 years at the European Commission, where she worked on regional project programming for the Western Balkans and within the Finance, Contract, and Audit Unit for Technical Assistance projects in Asia.
In addition, she is a founding member of the NGO Mothers at Risk, demonstrating her long-standing commitment to development and social positive impact.
Ms Henoque has a strong record of soft power achievements: while ensuring the usual and unusual tasks were duly and successfully achieved by the teams she led. She thrives in bringing people and teams at their best levels of professional and human performance. She brings strong leadership and project management skills to her new role.
Ms. Henoque holds a master’s degree in Commercial and Financial Sciences from HEC Saint-Louis in Brussels. She is fluent in English and French. She is married and mother of 3.
